GROUP COUNSELLING AND WORKSHOPS

One of the most effective forms of counselling can be to meet with others who are experiencing similar challenges or looking to learn the same skills. I find that whether the group is a peer support group, therapy group, or workshop, participants gain valuable insight and benefit from cathartic interaction with one another. Group work seems to be powerful in a unique way that allows participants to express themselves while finding meaning in the sharing and feedback of others.

Groups and workshops are available for individuals 18 years and older. Please note not all candidates are suitable for group counselling or workshops. You will be asked to complete a phone consult prior to participation, free of charge.

FEES

Fees for groups and workshops vary. Please read the group information listed below to find fees for the group or workshop you are interested in.

PAYMENT

Payment is due in full, at or prior to the first session of the particular group or workshop you are attending. Full payment is required to reserve space. If you decide to withdraw from a group midway, you will be refunded for remaining sessions, completed sessions are non-refundable. Cash and e-transfer are accepted.

INSURANCE

Psychotherapy services are not currently covered by OHIP. However, your health insurance or extended health care plan may offer full or partial coverage. Be sure to confirm with your provider that my qualifications (Registered Psychotherapist) and services (psychotherapy) are covered. You may also wish to inquire if/what type of group services are covered and what your maximum yearly reimbursement is. I do not provide third-party billing at this time. Any reimbursement for service is to be negotiated between the client and the insurance provider and payment is always due at or prior to the first session of the particular group or workshop.

CANCELLATION/ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please provide 24 hours notice if you cannot attend your group session or workshop. In order to optimize the group experience and minimize waitlists, please provide notice at your earliest convenience if you can no longer participate in a group or workshop. Absence from group without notice may result in full payment for missed sessions.
